Editorial Makeup & Hair | Almond Blossom Style Shoot

This was my 3rd time working Jeremy Chou, our talented photographer of this editorial shoot. The time before this? We were in Tuscany and he was my wedding photographer. I’ll write about our wedding in another post. Jeremy has always been awesome, and especially fast with his turn around time, which is a dream for every bride, right? Who wouldn’t want to see their wedding photos when they’re still in a high of it all.

Anyhow, in about 9 months after my wedding, I met Jeremy and the team in Handord, CA to do this shoot together. Everyone in the team drove more than 2.5hrs to be here, but it was so worth it! The day was magical! I can never forget the feeling of walking in an orchard filled with almond blossoms, rows and rows of them, and the paths are filled with little white petals as well… One could not feel more alive and inspired. I felt like I was transferred back into my youth, the most innocent years.

Annie from Olea and Fig did an outstanding job as our creative director/planner. For the makeup, this is not my usual work that you’d see which is a more soft, sweet and conventional makeup. Here I took the liberty to push things up a notch for a more artistic expression, as Annie suggested in her mood board. One of the looks was to portray purity yet with strength, hence the white eyeliner, and the second look is about resilience and passion yet still feminine, hence her red lips and a hint of red on the cheeks as well. Everyone put in their best effort for this shoot and the result was something so stunning! Can’t wait to see this shoot being published on Magnolia Rouge.
