FAQ's

1. HOW TO INQUIRE YOUR SERVICES? Please send your inquiry via the CONTACT tab on my site and provide all the information required. We will reply with estimated pricing, availability and help you with the booking process. Please kindly allow 48-72 hours turnaround time for our reply. If you email us on Friday, please expect a reply on Monday or Tues.

2. HOW CAN WE RESERVE THE DATE WITH YOU? Your wedding date is saved once I received a signed contract and a retainer from you. A lot of our clients would save the date with us 8-12 months in advance, and schedule a trial 3-4 months before the wedding day. For non-wedding appointments, such as a trial or family photoshoot session, we would ask for $100 retainer to save the date first.

3. CAN WE SCHEDULE A TRIAL FIRST BEFORE BOOKING? As of now, I can only offer trial for the brides that have already booked me. I also highly recommend that we do not do a trial more than 6 months before the wedding day. If you are unsure about whether I’m a good match for what you’re looking for, please check out “Real Brides” page and see if that gives you a better idea. I try to communicate well with my potential clients by posting more real makeovers from the past trials so that you can get a good sense of what I can do for you.

3. WILL YOU COME TO MY LOCATION? Yes, we can! Aimee & associate artists/stylists will come to your location with our makeup and hair equipments to get you and your bridal party ready. Travel fee may apply if your wedding location is more than 20 miles from our studio in Daly City, CA 94015. We travel for non-wedding services only if you meet a minimum of $800 for a weekday and $2000 for a Saturday or Sunday.

3. WHERE DO WE MEET FOR OUR TRIAL/PREVIEW SESSION? All trial sessions will be held at our studio in Daly City. Trial sessions are offered Tuesday through Thursday only and we recommend scheduling 2-4 months before your wedding day.

4. CAN YOU STAY FOR TOUCH-UPS? I would love to stay 3-5 hours extra for your day to make sure you look perfect. It’s an add-on service. Please inquire for more information.

5. SHOULD I HAVE MY TRIAL DONE ON DAY OF ENGAGEMENT SESSION? Yes, you can, but we highly advise you not to, unless you are totally comfortable wearing your wedding day hair & makeup look (which is more formal usually) for the engagement outfits.

6. HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE TRIAL OR WEDDING DAY? We will send you a “Trial Preparation” form via Dubsado prior to your appointment. Here are a few things to consider:

(1) Take good care of your skin! If you have problematic skin, do seek a dermatologist or a reputable clinic to help you figure out a good regimen. If you have relatively dry or normal skin, feel free to indulge in wonderful facial masks. (2) Have your brows cleaned up by a professional if possible or add an extra 15-20m to the trial time if you leave that for us to help you shape them. (3) Pay your favorite hairstylist a visit (no more than 2-3 weeks before the wedding day) for a cut/trim or get a shine treatment to get your hair looking its healthiest. Ask us before the trial if you’re unsure how long you should keep your hair length at.

7. HOW LONG WILL THE TRIAL TAKE? Generally a trial takes about 4 hours. The work itself is about 3.5hrs but we should leave extra time for some discussion and photography time as well. While painting your face, I will often check in to see how you feel about the on-going transformation. Please be honest and disclose any concerns you may have. I always welcome feedback. My job is to make sure you’re not just looking beautiful on your wedding day, but also feeling absolutely beautiful!

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Yes! Aimee & Team will come to you with our equipments and materials to get you and your bridal party all dolled up and ready for the day. For most of non-wedding events, we offer in-studio service ONLY. Travel fee may applied on wedding day if your location is more than 20 miles from A&T studio (Daly City/San Francisco). Inquire for rate.

3
WHERE DO WE MEET FOR TRIAL/PREVIEW SESSION?

All trial sessions will be held at A&T studio, located in Daly City, CA, which is about 15 min to/from central San Francisco. We offer trial sessions from Tues-Thurs only and it would be best scheduled 2-4 months before the wedding day. Full address will be provided once the deposit/payment is made.

4
I TRUST YOUR WORK, CAN I SKIP THE TRIAL?

It is truly is a compliment for us, but for your best interest, AMA would strongly suggest not to skip the trial. If you agree with us that every face is unique, not to mention your personal taste and many other important logistics for the wedding day, skipping the trial means your makeup and hair design may have to be compromised. For example, what if on the wedding day, we’ll surprisingly learn that one of your eyes won’t coopporate with liquid/gel liner or false lashes, and keep watering uncontrollably, or if your hair simply won’t part a certain way because you haven’t trained the bang to go towards the way that would frame your face best? If we had gone through a trial together, we would have had these kinds of unexpected situations all squared out. So, why not get the best of our artistic ability?

5
DO YOU STAY FOR TOUCH-UP?

For the simple {Simplicity} package of $1275, touch-up service is not included. Our brides will have us on-site for 3-3.5hrs, from the start to the completion of makeup & hair design (one time application) within this time frame. To have a built-in touch up for the Ceremony or Reception, please consider the {Perfection} package which is 8hrs coverage. For this, we offer not only makeup touchup throughout your First Look/Photoshoot, but also adding a 2nd hairstyle for your reception. Please inquire for more info.

6
SHOULD I HAVE MY TRIAL DONE ON DAY OF ENGAGEMENT SESSION?

You definitely can, but we normally do not recommend it. The focus of the trial should be about trying out the wedding day makeup and hair look for you, with your beautiful dress and many other details in mind, including bouquet, color theme, venue, time of day, indoor/outdoor etc. On the other hand, the look for the Engagement session is usually much more casual, fresh; or can be a lot more bold and fun too, depending on your locations/styling. So, it’s best to do it seperately. However, if it’s hard to have the 2 sessions done separately, you are welcomed to use our trial hair + makeup look for your engagement session.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR THE TRIAL or WEDDING DAY?

We will send you a “Prepare for Trial” email prior to your appointment. But few things to considered before the trial AND before wedding day:

(1) take good care of your skin, if you have problematic skin, do seek a dermatologist or a reputable clinic to help you figure out a good regiment. If you have relatively dry or normal skin, feel free to indulge in wonderful facial masks. A few good brands in our opinion include: SKII Facial Treatment Mask, Origins Retexturing Mask, Fresh Umbrian Clay Purifying Mask, and Dr Jart+ Water-Fuse Sleeping Mask.

(2) have your brows cleaned up if possible (waxed or threaded)

(3) pay your favorite hairstylist a visit (especially 2-3 weeks before the wedding day) for a cut/trim or get a shine treatment to get your hair looking its most healthy. If you’re unsure how long you should keep your hair length at, ask us before the trial.

(4) on trial day, please try to wear a neutral colored top (black is ok too) with neckline similar to your wedding dress if possible, meaning open neckline or tube top, yes! This way we can envision the whole look better. Avoid bright colored tops or high neckline tops.
